"Parkour is the art of movement" – as it is said by the ones who cultivate it. This new street sport has gained greater and larger ground among young people in the last years. The essence of parkour is to get from point A to point B, by getting over obstructions with various difficulties. The sport started around 1980 from France, the "father" of this art was David Belle and told the followings about parkour:
"The primary and most beneficial side of parkour is to teach people how to trust in themselves and to learn how to be cautious. Philosophy is always progressing, never stops. If sometimes you have problems in everyday life or there is a difficulty, you have to move ahead."
Parkour is exercised by thousands of young people in all part of the world, including Hungary as well. Streets, wall and roof of houses became the new playgrounds.
